Ahhh yes, I remember seeing this one in the DTFs and rightfully so. This is gorgeous. It has such a dream like feel to it and I love that object in the distance, adds to the mystery and overall feeling.
Okay, first off ... This is truly a wonderful shot. The way you have the sky blend all the way down to the dark dirty ground is wonderful.
Now, I REALLY want to know how this was done. Diffusion filter? Graduated density thingamajig? I haven't gotten to use any of those techniques yet, so I'm not exactly sure how they'd make some things turn out. heh, maybe you used digital and edited? Or maybe, and I have yet to check, you explained this in the description. (for some reason I don't think so.)
Anyways, SUPERB shot...thanks for giving me a worthy and wonderful fav
Beautiful... the overall soft feel of the subject while keeping the detail of the ground.. the colors.. the wind in her dress.. i don't know how heavily maniped this is... but the result is amazing either way...
This is indeed beautiful. But I think it belongs in the photo-manip section. A small f-stop wouldnt allow the ground to be that sharp and the figure in the same plane to be that blurred. There's also a subtle ghostly shadow around the figure, as +kuso said, a drop-shadow, that is unnatural. And the color saturation is just too much for reality. From the luminosity of the clouds to the gaussian blur of the scenery that suddenly stops at the waters edge. Very nicely done, and I think it would have been as well accepted, or even moreso, had it been placed in the proper category, with a better description.
